- High return flow / injector imbalance (cylinder correction values)

III. Critical Technician Notes (MUST-DO)

1. Injector Coding: After nozzle or injector replacement, perform IMA coding via BMW ISTA or equivalent tool.
2. Sealing Components: Always replace copper washers and O-rings; never reuse worn seals.
3. Injector Bolts: Use new clamp/stretch bolts; follow OEM torque-angle specs strictly.
4. Clean Installation: Maintain absolute cleanliness. BMW N57 injectors are very sensitive to dirt and water.
5. System Verification: Perform leak-back test, rail pressure stability check, pilot injection calibration, and smooth-running test.
6. Fuel System Notes: Replace fuel filter during service; verify no water contamination in the system.
7. Seat Reconditioning: Clean or reface injector seat if carbon buildup is present to avoid blow-by, misfire, and compression leakage.
