- Emission Standard Compatibility: Euro 4 / Euro 5 (DV6 engine family)
- Performance Features: Smooth idle, low fuel consumption, reduced black smoke, and stable injection across RPM range.
Common Fault Symptoms:
- Difficult cold start
- Rough idle or metallic injector knock
- High return flow (imbalance test failure)
- Black or white exhaust smoke
- Loss of power or turbo hesitation
- Increased fuel consumption
III. Critical Technician Notes (MUST-DO)
1. Clean Installation: Ultrasonic-clean injectors before fitting the new nozzle; any contamination may damage DV6 injectors.
2. Sealing Components: Always replace copper washers, O-rings, return-line seals — failure leads to leaks and blow-by.
3. Injector Mounting: Use new clamp bolts; torque-angle tightening is mandatory on DV6 engines.
4. Spray Pattern & Leak-Back Test: After installation, validate injection spray and perform injector leak-back test.
5. Calibration / Coding: Use OEM diagnostic tools (Peugeot Diagbox, Ford IDS, etc.) to perform injector coding (IMA/ISA).
6. Fuel System Quality: Replace fuel filter during injector service; DV6 engines are sensitive to water and contamination.
7. Seat Reconditioning: Clean or reface injector seat if carbon buildup is present to prevent blow-by and compression leakage.
8. Long-Term Maintenance: Check injector corrections during servicing to detect early nozzle wear.
9. Handling & Storage: Store nozzles in sealed, clean packaging; avoid impact to tip or needle.
